Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA)

Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) is financial support for young people aged 16–19 who choose to continue learning after leaving school age. Eligible young people can receive £30 per week to help with the costs of continuing their education.

To receive EMA, you need to apply each academic year through your local council and complete a learning agreement. Payment depends on meeting the agreed attendance requirements.
