Our Curriculum Rationale

Our Curriculum Story
2008 - 2016
2016 - 2017
2018 - 2019
NOTOSH, a strategic planning specialist helping schools, governments and education leaders turn ambitious ideas into clear choices and practical action, led staff, pupils, parents and partners through a design thinking approach to improvement. This allowed all stakeholders to more fully examine where we are as a school, what is working well and what we need to move forward.
2020 and Beyond
With these characteristics driving curriculum decisions, Calderglen High School's curriculum is centred around ensuring the holistic development of every child. Curriculum review is embedded in our annual improvement processes to ensure that we continue to provide a relevant and engaging offer, shaped in such a way to allow pupils to become: - Successful Learners, Confident Individuals, Effective Contributors and Responsible Citizens, the 4 capacities which underpin Curriculum for Excellence. At all stages in the curriculum there are opportunities promoting and enabling the development of Skills for Life Learning and Work. This is facilitated by ensuring pupils have the opportunity to fully exploit the Four Contexts for Learning.
The following graphics demonstrate a sample of our commitment to pupil experience across the Four Contexts for Learning.
