Dear Parent/Carer,

S4-S6 - SLC Youth Employability - Gradu8 Programme (mainstream)

South Lanarkshire Council’s GradU8 programme offers senior phase students (S4-S6) an opportunity to study towards a vocational qualification that provide an introduction to an area of employment that offers rich progression opportunities into further study and employment. These courses also support pupils’ attainment through the completion of a number of units at SCQF Level 4/5.

Courses will be delivered at South Lanarkshire College or Kelvin College and will run every Friday. Pupils will make their own way to South Lanarkshire College and transport will be provided for Kelvin College.

For pupils to be considered for a space, it must be in line with their career plans. Pupils will miss 2 of 4 periods in two subjects on a Friday and it is their responsibility to catch up on any work missed. This should be carefully considered before an application is made. Where pupils are proactive, this has not had a significant affect on their overall attainment but should be considered whilst deciding to pursue this option.

Please note that spaces are limited. Pupils who are not allocated will be placed on a reserve list.
